Oliver Jacobs (Sept. 2017- ) is an undergraduate student in the lab and works on his 4th year thesis project. His main project is to identify the perceptual differences between pictorial and visual spaces. The purpose of my project is to directly compare the perceptual disparities between visual and pictorial space by using innovative methodologies involving virtual reality. Handball animations will serve as a diagnostic tool in determining whether there are significantly different sensitivity discrimination for participants between condition. The participants will act as a goalie in a net, and after watching a brief animation of a field player throwing a ball to either the participant’s left or right, they will have to guess where the ball would have been gone.
